WHEW... Another Crazy Week...

'Tis the season for things to start getting crazy and out of control! Last Thursday, I left for the Ontario Scrapbook Expo. My fellow Rusty Pickle Chef and friend, Miss Libby, and I spent the whole day setting up the Rusty Pickle booth. The show was slower than most I've been to, but it was still a great show for the Pickle! I was so excited to meet Miss Jennifer Priest at the show... my teammate from Crop Addict. I also have to do my first of several shout outs to two AWESOME companies... Sizzix (where I got a GREAT deal on my AWESOME NEW BIG SHOT!) and MY MIND'S EYE... SERIOUSLY, their products ROCK and their staff is even better!!! I used my Big Shot to cut the chipboard swirl on the layout above and I will have some new "Laundry Line" layouts up in the next few days! Working shows is always a ton of work, but I have a great time!!!

Let's see...what else... oh yeah... we went to Bates Nut Farm for our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday, yesterday we went on our first preschool field trip... a costume party at Barnes and Noble, today I will start two days of cooking since we will be hosting the Varsity football team dinner tomorrow night, carve pumpkins, get the house ready for Mom and Dad to come for an overnight Halloween visit, our traditional Halloween chili and cornbread dinner, quick trick or treating and then to Chris' home football game (yes, on Halloween night), 12 hour Tally Scrapper crop on Saturday, prepare the Grad Nite meeting on Monday night, prepare my lesson plan to teach preschool on Tuesday and VOTE!, oh, yeah... and somewhere in the next few days, find time to pack for the RUSTY PICKLE ANNUAL RETREAT IN THE MOUNTAINS OF UTAH... scrapping, bonding, Secret Sisters, preview the new classes for 2009, play with new product... a 4 day SLUMBER PARTY with the Rusty Pickle Chefs, staff, Tasha and Lance and of course, 3 week old Anders (Tasha and Lance's newest miracle! I can't WAIT to cuddle!!!) I will have pictures of the pumpkin patch and Halloween fun up soon... but, I'm a bit swamped at the moment... :-) Have a great day!!! :-)

Homecoming #2...

Last night was the Homecoming at rival school, San Pasqual High School. Since it is Nicola's senior year, they decided to "pull out all the stops" for her Homecoming... being more casual at Chris' Homecoming a few weeks ago. Chris saved his money and paid for everything himself... including their seats on the "party bus!" Here are a few fun shots of Chris and Nicola. Have a great day!!!

Colonoscopy... CLEAR!

The price of gas to drive to the hospital... $16

The cost of breakfast in the hospital... $8

The cost of lunch after the results... $32

Knowing that your husband is CANCER FREE... PRICELESS!

It has been almost 4 years since Jeff was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer and today was a follow up colonoscopy to make sure he was cancer free. Although there were no real signs to suggest that anything was wrong, Jeff and I have both been on edge waiting for the test today. Results from the doctor... "No recurrent cancer. No polyps or tumors. Repeat exam in 5 years!" 5 YEARS!!? WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!

Today was a good day!

Simple... Robbie... LOVE IT!

I just finished this simple layout of Baby Robbie... it was an assignment for Ever After Scrapbooks (LSS) and there was no patterned paper... just the die cut, rub on and foil chipboard shapes... and I just love this layout and this little man!!! Back to the Chargers game...

1st Homecoming, Scrap Studio, Halloween, B-day, School... Welcome to my Week!

... and you wonder why I haven't had time to scrap!? :-) In the past 6 weeks we have hosted an exchange student from Serbia, I worked my first Expo, we gutted and redecorated 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and the hallway, we had our 2006 Aussie student and her Mom stay for 2 weeks, Jeff built my new Scrap Studio, Homecoming (the first of 2), decorate for Halloween, football, Preschool, my birthday and Jeff's birthday... WHEW! Of course, most of this is captured on film, so enjoy these pics of the past week. SIDEBAR: Chris and Nicola go to cross town rival schools, so this past week was Chris' Homecoming and they decided to go casual... next week is Nicola's Homecoming and they will be dressed up for that one. Orange was the color of the week for pre-school. Anna helped make Daddy's birthday cake and blow out the candles. Anna and Daddy put up the huge spider web in the front yard. Finally, a teaser picture of my new SCRAP STUDIO!

Apple for the Teacher...

Today was my first day as "Miss Mommy..." I taught class for our home preschool today and although I was pretty anxious for the past few days, it went very well. I had my lesson plan, we worked on our letters, our journals, read a few stories, did a fun graph project with M & M's and made coffee filter butterflies. Jeff had a chance to stay at home for a bit of the morning and was very excited to watch the kids "at school." My favorite part of the day was when Robbie ran in the front door and handed me an apple... it is the little things that put the biggest smile on my face! Have a GREAT day!
