Crop Addict layouts and 2Peas LOVE!

I have just finished several layouts using the May Crop Addict kit and thought I would share them here! I sure wasn't very creative with my layout titles this week... here are two of my favorites, both called, "Happy."

The "Happy" layout that features Robbie was the #1 layout at 2Peas yesterday and today! WOOO HOOOO!!! Have a GREAT day!

Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy...

Just stopping in to post a layout that makes me smile! Robbie and Anna are the best of friends and are just TOO DARN CUTE! The papers are the new "Cogsmo" from Cosmo Cricket. I LOVE designing with flowers and these robot cogs gave me the chance to create a "boy flower."

We are working on our front landscaping all weekend... and are just about ready to plant! WOOO HOOO! Tonight is also Jessica's play... we have heard that she is doing an awesome job! Make it a GREAT weekend!

A Beautiful Day for Prom...

Prom... the last big event before graduation... HOLY COW! I can hardly believe that my baby will be graduating from high school in 6 short weeks!!! However, what I think won't stop time from passing...

Last night was Prom... Jessica's senior Prom... Chris' freshman Prom...? Yes, Chris was able to go to Prom as a freshman since his girlfriend, Simone, is a senior. Although Jessica and Chris got home VERY late and are currently still asleep, it sounded like they had a great time! Here are a few "pre-event" photos...

26 seconds...

Yesterday was Chris' 3rd ever swim meet and he ROCKED THE HOUSE! (At least in my eyes he did!) Chris swam the 100 free in 26 seconds and came in 2nd by less than a second... by the reach, actually... he did a typical new swimmer mistake by reaching up and over for the wall instead of down and up. At least that is what the coach said!

Then it was on to the 200 freestyle relay. Chris was the 2nd swimmer up. He started his 50 meters about 2 body lengths behind the first place team. By the end of 25 meters, he had caught up and passed the other swimmer. Chris was on fire! As soon as he got out of the water, the coaches moved Chris up to the 1st string relay team, who was only 4 seconds away from auto qualification for CIF... the coaches think Chris can make up those 4 seconds for the team! WOOO HOOOO! Who knew swimming could be so exciting!? :-)

Grad Nite - Scrappy Donations Needed!

GRAD NITE... Yep... another Committee that Jeff and I volunteer for at our high school... and we have a BLAST with this group! So much so that I am the new Chair of the Grad Nite Committee!! WOOOO HOOOO!!! Grad Nite is an on-site, all night, sober event for the graduating class... lots of food, dancing, paint ball, laser tag, stage shows, video games, full beauty salon, caricature artists... on and on... AND... with my love of scrapping, we have added a new booth to our Grad Nite this year!!! We are going to have a LARGE SCRAPBOOK AND PAPER CRAFTING BOOTH at this year's Grad Nite!!! Seniors will have the opportunity to bring all of their high school pictures/memories and scrap all night and/or we will be teaching a Make and Take frame the kids can make that night and use to take home pictures from the event. We have a professional photographer who has donated his time and will be taking photos all night, printing them onsite, and displaying them for everyone to see (like they do on cruise ships.) I don't know if they have scrapping at Grad Nite's around the country... but I know we are the first around here!!!

There has been A LOT of interest shown for this new booth at Grad Nite, but I need some help. Since this is our first time with this booth, we need a TON of supplies... everything, actually! We need adhesive and cutters and scissors, and cardstock and patterned paper and paint/ink and embellishments... We are the Orange Glen Patriots and our colors are red, white and blue, so any patriotic and/or graduation supplies would be GREAT! Any supplies would be AWESOME so the kids could scrap about their high school memories from all through the year!!!

If you are involved in the scrapbook industry and would be able to donate, please let me know. You can email me at traceylocher@cox.net. We are a non-profit organization and I would be happy to send you our tax ID# for tax purposes. We also advertise each of our donors on a large banner at our school for a few weeks, in the graduation program and in a local newspaper ad. I would also BE HAPPY to write an article about Scrapping at Grad Nite if one of the magazines would be interested in publishing it!!!... who knows... maybe we can help start a new trend!!!

Thanks for your help and have a FANTASTIC weekend!!!

It's Swim Season...

Chris is an athlete! He loves to work out, get stronger, compete and be part of the team. Our 15-year-old, 6'1" Freshman has played football, Varsity Basketball and is now on to Varsity Swim... it has been quite a year!! Chris has been swimming since he was 1 year old, but hasn't competed in swim... that didn't stop him! His first meet was last week and he swam the 100 free, the 500 free (poor kid), and 2 relays. ! In the 100 free, yes, he came in last... out of 5... by 1 second... and was THRILLED! He was swimming against 4 seniors, many of whom are CIF level swimmers. His coach said he had never seen a freshman swim that well!!! (It has to be the fact that both my Mom and I were on the swim team in high school... he has "fish" in his genes.) Then they put him in the 500 free... he was excited to swim another race... I asked if he had ever completed a full 500 during practice... he said, "Sure, Mom (he said with a proud smile), I just haven't done it without stopping for breaks..." For those of you that don't swim, that is a 20 lap race... the long distance race, and it is painful! Chris came in last... he didn't stop for breaks, and he earned valuable points for the team. Anna cheered poolside for Chris during his 500 free, and really enjoyed herself, until she almost fell in. At the 2nd meet, Anna cheered from behind an adjoining fence... LOL!! We look forward to watching what Chris can do by the end of the season... he came in 2nd to last during this week's 100 free... WOOO HOOO!!!

Design Team work...

There are several reasons that I enjoy being on Design Teams... making new friends, the feeling of "Woo Hoo" for making it through the audition process and being added to the team, the "perks" :-)... but one of the things I like the best is working with product that I would probably never buy myself, and making it work in my style anyway. I just created these two layouts for the American Crafts manufacturer kit given to me by Crop Addict. These are papers that I don't think I would walk into a store and buy, but once I worked with them, I absolutely LOVED the results!!!

On the "Anna as Mariposa" layout, I added Stickles to the back of the Heidi Swapp Ghost Butterflies and I cut some of the purple letters to create the "body" of the butterfly. I also used my exacto knife to cut slits in the layout to "tuck" the smaller pictures into the layout.

I am still giggling to myself about my first attempt at sewing on a layout. I just LOVE the way the "Best Friends" layout turned out!!!

Now, off to finish my prep responsibilities for the OGHS Dick Disney Athletics Auction... then set up starts in a few hours... and the event tomorrow night... GO OG!!! :-)
